NFL draft prospect Xavier Worthy set a new record at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine by running the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds.

The previous record of 4.22 seconds was set by John Ross III in 2017.

Worthy also posted an impressive 41-inch vertical jump. During his college career at the University of Texas, Worthy caught 197 passes for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns.

While his speed could create mismatches, scouts noted Worthy had a thin frame and needed to get stronger to be effective in the NFL.

His record-setting speed display at the combine is likely to raise his draft stock, though his size remains a question mark at the next level.
