Elon Musk criticized a news segment from ABC News about President Biden’s visit to the US-Mexico border and claims about a failed bipartisan border bill.
The segment had a reporter saying Biden would blame Donald Trump for tanking the bill, which supposedly included some of the toughest reforms in decades.
“The president is expected to meet with Border Patrol and local law enforcement and to once again blame Donald Trump for tanking that bipartisan border deal that would have included some of the toughest reforms in decades,” reporter Mary Bruce said.

“That legislation would have imposed stricter asylum restrictions, included daily limits on border crossings, and billions of dollars in new funding for security. But Donald Trump pressured Republicans to kill that bill to deny President Biden a political win.”
However, Musk and numerous experts argued the bill would have made “invasion-level migration permanent” and been a disaster, with critics like Ron DeSantis calling it a “farce” that would legalize illegal immigration.
In response to the segment being posted on Twitter, Musk said people who get their news from legacy TV live in a “fake alternate reality,” and the “diabolical” border bill “deserved to die.”

Musk strongly disagreed with the positive portrayal of the bill and implication it would have improved border security.
