Adam Sandler revealed he gets nervous around pop star Taylor Swift due to how much she means to his children.
He said he talks too loudly and doesn’t act as cool when meeting her because he doesn’t want to disappoint his kids, who know all of Swift’s songs inside and out like people did with The Beatles’ songs.
Sandler said, “Taylor Swift because of what she means to my kids, I get a little [expletive] jumpy, because I don’t want to blow it for my kids.”
“I talk a little too loud. I don’t act as cool as I can,” admitted the actor.
“I can see that,” O’Brien replied.
He added, “I mean, she’s this whole other level now.”
Sandler said, “People talk about The Beatles of it all and her. I mean, [expletive], so many smash hits. There’s not a word my kids don’t know.”
“I know them too, by the way,” Sandler added.
He continued, “But they know them inside and out. But remember The Beatles… every single song on the record you knew — that’s Taylor Swift too. There’s not a song you skip. You go, ‘Oh that one’s pretty cool.'”
Conan O’Brien agreed his daughter is also a big Swift fan and knows all her songs. Sandler compared Swift’s catalog to that of The Beatles, with no songs to skip and all being hits.
Swift has cemented her status alongside The Beatles by matching one of their records of having three songs in the top 10 Billboard charts from three different albums.
Currently on her international “Eras Tour,” Swift continues breaking records with her largest audience to date of 96,000 people at three shows in Melbourne, Australia.
