At a hearing regarding whether the special prosecutor in Donald Trump’s 2020 election case should be removed due to a conflict of interest, the key witness, Nathan Wade’s former divorce attorney Terrence Bradley, was evasive and inconsistent in his testimony about the timeline of Wade’s romantic relationship with District Attorney Fani Willis.
While Bradley had previously indicated the relationship began before Willis hired Wade, in court he claimed not to know when it started and cited attorney-client privilege to avoid answering many questions.
His lack of clear answers frustrated defense attorneys seeking to prove the prosecutors provided misleading testimony about the relationship.

Trump attorney Steve Sadow said, “You do in fact know when it started. You don’t want to testify to that in court, that’s the best explanation, isn’t it?”
“That’s the true explanation because you don’t want to admit in court, correct?” he repeated.
Bradley insisted, “I have no direct knowledge of when the relationship started.”

The hearing has focused new scrutiny on the prosecutors’ personal lives and relationship rather than the criminal allegations against Trump and others.
A ruling is expected on whether Willis must be removed from the case.
