Iran has reportedly authorized Hezbollah to escalate attacks against Israel, with plans for a full-scale assault if Israel enters Gaza’s city of Rafah.
Hezbollah anticipates an Israeli attack on southern Lebanon after eliminating terrorists in Rafah.
“[Hezbollah Secretary-General] Hassan Nasrallah told [Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards-Quds Force (IRGC-QF) Commander Esmail] Qaani that the attack is likely to be very imminent, most likely in the month of Ramadan, or with Israel’s invasion of the city of Rafah,” an IRGC source stated.
“Nasrallah said that he is completely certain of [Israel’s] intention to launch a large-scale attack on Lebanon, and he asked Qaani to give him complete freedom in how he intends to attack.”
Tensions are rising as both Israel and Hezbollah brace for potential conflict, with concerns that President Biden may not intervene.
Recent attacks by Iranian-backed groups have led to limited U.S. responses, indicating a volatile situation in the region.
