An affidavit filed by Trump’s lawyers contends that cellphone data obtained from AT&T through subpoena suggests the prosecutor in the Trump election interference case, Nathan Wade, made 35 visits to Fulton County prosecutor Fani Willis’s neighborhood prior to November 2021, contradicting his testimony of just 10 visits.
This could indicate Wade committed perjury. The timeline is important because if Wade and Willis were romantically involved before he was hired in November 2021, it could violate anti-nepotism rules.
Both Wade and Willis testified under oath the relationship began in 2022.
However, the affidavit notes Wade and Willis exchanged over 2,000 phone calls and 12,000 texts in the first 11 months of 2021.
Wade testified any phone records contradicting his account would be wrong.
“So, if phone records were to reflect that you were making phone calls from the same location as the condo before Nov. 1 of 2021, and it was on multiple occasions, the phone records would be wrong?” a Trump attorney questioned Wade.
“If phone records reflected that? Yes, sir,” Wade said.
“They’d be wrong?” the attorney asked.
“They’d be wrong,” Wade said.
