President Biden took swipes at adversaries like Putin and Trump while addressing climate change at a fundraiser.
He called Putin a “crazy SOB” when mentioning existential threats including nuclear war and climate change.
Biden expressed surprise at Trump comparing his legal troubles to the suspicious death of Russian opposition leader Navalny in prison, saying the country hadn’t become communist and such claims would have warranted commitment years ago.
Biden said, “We have a crazy SOB like Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is climate.”
“I’ve been around a long time and I’ve never quite seen a crowd like this MAGA Republican crowd,” he continued.
The President added, “They seem to have very little moral compass on what is important to people.”
The remarks came as Biden fundraises in California for his 2024 reelection campaign, aiming critiques at Russia, his likely GOP challenger Trump, and those who still support Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.
