The parents of Gabby Petito have reached a confidential settlement in a civil lawsuit against Brian Laundrie’s parents and their attorney, ending a year-long emotional legal battle.

The lawsuit accused the Laundries of misleading them about Gabby’s whereabouts before her remains were found.

The Laundries denied any knowledge of her fate before her remains were discovered.

The attorney for Gabby Petito’s parents, Steve Bertolino, said, “Christopher and Roberta Laundrie and I participated in mediation with the Petito family and the civil lawsuit has now been resolved.”

He continued, “The terms of the resolution are confidential, and we look forward to putting this matter behind us.”

Brian Laundrie, the prime suspect, committed suicide before search teams found Gabby.

The settlement follows previous failed negotiations and a $3 million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit, with funds aiding the Gabby Petito Foundation’s work against domestic violence.
