A Norwegian lawmaker has nominated Elon Musk for a Nobel Peace Prize, praising him for his defense of free speech and providing Starlink satellites to Ukrainian soldiers.
Musk’s tech companies are seen as contributing to societal betterment and global connectivity.
“The multitude of tech companies Musk has founded, owns or runs, aimed at bettering societies, increasing knowledge of both earth and space, in addition to enabling communication and connectivity globally has helped make the world a more connected and safer place,” Norwegian parliament member Marius Nilsen said.

He purchased Twitter to uphold free speech and reinstated accounts of banned individuals.
The nomination process for the Nobel Peace Prize involves hundreds of nominations, with winners announced in October.
Musk’s net worth is $213 billion.
Another Norwegian lawmaker previously nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
