Hunter Biden is facing federal charges related to purchasing a firearm while being an active drug user.

His lawyers filed a brief arguing a photo cited as evidence by prosecutors actually depicts sawdust, not cocaine.

They claim the photo was sent to Hunter by his psychiatrist, who received it from a carpenter, and was meant to convey Hunter could overcome addiction.

Biden’s lawyers reportedly wrote, “The prosecution is flat out wrong—both that Mr. Biden ‘took’ this photograph and in claiming that it depicts ‘cocaine.’”

“Multiple sources have pointed out, and a review of discovery confirms, this is actually a photo of sawdust from an expert carpenter and it was sent to Mr. Biden, not vice versa,” their filing continued.

“More specifically, the discovery identifies this as a photo of a photo taken in the office of Mr. Biden’s then-psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow, which Dr. Ablow initially received from [a] master carpenter and later texted to Mr. Biden, stating: ‘This one in my office is of lines of sawdust sent to me by a master carpenter who was a coke addict,’” wrote the attorneys.

Adding, “The message accompanying that photo was meant to convey that Mr. Biden, too, could overcome any addiction. The prosecution does not provide a date for the photo, but the message from Dr. Ablow is dated November 20, 2018.”

However, prosecutors point to Hunter’s own memoir admitting heavy crack cocaine use in 2018, when he bought the gun, and traces of cocaine found on the gun’s holster.

Despite the ongoing investigation and prosecution, Hunter has responded theatrically, including storming out of a congressional hearing about his business and demanding Trump testify about interfering in his case.

His lawyers are disputing evidence used against him in the gun case.
