Shannon Gooden, a man prohibited from owning firearms, fatally shot two police officers and a firefighter paramedic during a domestic disturbance in Burnsville.

Gooden, involved in a dispute with the mother of his children, barricaded himself in a home with seven children, prompting a tragic standoff.

“I’m going to have a standoff,” Gooden reportedly said. “I’m going to kill everybody.”

He was found dead by suicide. Gooden’s history included a revoked gun possession right due to a past assault charge and ongoing custody disputes.

The incident occurred days before a court hearing on the custody matter.
