Three stolen horses, including a therapy animal, were found slaughtered in rural South Miami-Dade County.
The thieves likely took the horses for their meat, cutting a hole in the fence to access them.
The caretaker of the therapy animal expressed concern for the impact on therapy recipients.

“It’s sad,” David Yepez said. “You build an attachment, and you see the impact this horse has, not just on one person, but several people.”
This incident is part of a series of horse rustling episodes in the area, with a recent arrest related to a similar case.
Police caution against consuming meat from these horses due to potential dangers.
“Just because it’s expensive doesn’t make it a delicacy,” detective Alvaro Zabaleta said.
No arrests have been made in this latest case, and the perpetrators could face felony charges for theft and animal cruelty.
