New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to distribute $53 million to asylum seekers in the form of pre-paid credit cards has drawn criticism from rapper 50 Cent, who expressed confusion and suggested that former President Donald Trump might be better suited to address the country’s issues.

The program aims to provide financial assistance to illegal migrants for food expenses, with each selected family potentially receiving nearly $1,000 per month.

The initiative is projected to save the city money by preventing wastage on unwanted meals for asylum seekers.

“WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works ‍somebody explain,” 50 Cent wrote. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

However, critics like 50 Cent have raised concerns about the use of taxpayer funds for such programs.

The program comes with restrictions on where the cards can be used and requires recipients to sign an affidavit pledging to use the funds only for specific purposes.

This has sparked further debate and criticism, particularly in light of 50 Cent’s previous support for Trump due to concerns about potential tax increases.

“I don’t want to be 20cent” under Biden, 50 Cent previously wrote.
