“The View” host Sara Haines admitted to actively hiding Donald Trump’s presidency from her children, even policing what they could see on the news and not mentioning the presidency until after President Joe Biden’s win in November 2020.
Haines’ perspective aligns with other co-hosts on the show, such as Whoopi Goldberg, who refuses to say Trump’s name aloud, Sunny Hostin, who refers to him as the “twice-impeached” president, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration member who would consider voting for a Democrat to oppose Trump.
“Do you know what my child can’t watch? News,” Haines said.
Sara Haines says she didn't tell her kids who the president was it was Trump.
"I literally had to hide news for four years while Donald Trump was in. Because as they're learning what a president of the United States is, I didn't want to say, 'yeah and that's him right there.'" pic.twitter.com/bWQhRbGVRJ— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) January 30, 2024
“When you turn it on — I literally had to hide news for four years while Donald Trump was in,” she said. “Because as they’re learning what a President of the United States is, I didn’t want to say, ‘Yeah, and that’s him right there.’”
“So I couldn’t even announce the president until Biden and Vice President Harris won,” she said.
