White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre laughed off speculation about President Joe Biden teaming up with Taylor Swift for the 2024 election, citing the Hatch Act and her role as a federal employee.
She avoided discussing the president’s schedule or the upcoming election, emphasizing the need for caution.
“So what would Swift’s support give the president?” CNN’s John Berman asked. “Any plans? Any plans to go on tour?”
“So let me first say I got to be really mindful. I’m a federal employee. As you know, there’s something called the Hatch Act, so certainly cannot speak to anything that is related to 2024 an upcoming election,” Jean-Pierre said.
“So going to be super, super mindful obviously,” she added.
“There are a lot of I know, in my shop in the press office shop, there are a lot of Swifties. If you were, if you will, fans of Taylor Swift. And so I’m just going to leave it there.”
Taylor Swift is the biggest and most influential endorsement target for the Biden campaign, according to The New York Times.

“I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month,” Vivek Ramaswamy wrote online. “And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall.”
“Just some wild speculation over here; let’s see how it ages over the next eight months,” he added.
