Vivek Ramaswamy commented on the media’s focus on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, suggesting they are an “artificially culturally propped-up couple” and speculating about a potential presidential endorsement from them.
The New York Times reported the Biden Administration’s desire for Swift’s endorsement, citing her significant influence and impact on voter registrations and fundraising.
Despite NFL fans expressing weariness of the Swift obsession, reports indicate her romance with Kelce has brought substantial brand value to the league.
“I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month,” Ramaswamy said.
“And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall.”
“Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months,” he said.
Concerns have been raised about sexually explicit AI-generated images of Swift circulating on social media.
A poll suggested that Swift’s endorsement could affect the 2024 presidential election, with 18 percent of voters more likely to support a candidate endorsed by her.
“She endorsed Mr. Biden in 2020,” one report noted, “and, last year, a single Instagram post of hers led to 35,000 new voter registrations. Fund-raising appeals from Ms. Swift could be worth millions of dollars for Mr. Biden.”
