HGTV star Tarek El Moussa recounted a 2016 incident where he left his house after an argument with his then-wife Christina Hall.
He was approached by police in a helicopter while walking on a trail, leading to a misunderstanding.
El Moussa, who had a concealed-carry permit, carried a gun due to wildlife in the area.
The police were called by Hall, leading to a dramatic encounter.
El Moussa wrote, “A police officer leaning out of the helicopter pointed a rifle at me.”
“Dust swirled around me from the spin of the blades, and a loudspeaker crackled, ‘Get your hands in the air!'” he recalled.
“‘Yes! I’m the guy from TV! What are you guys doing?'” he reportedly responded.
El Moussa wrote, “That was the very last time we were together as a family: with Christina walking down the driveway, crying, and me sitting there in handcuffs, asking myself, ‘What in the world is going on?”
Following their split, El Moussa faced personal struggles, including health issues and emotional turmoil, eventually finding stability with a new marriage.
