Former President Trump took the stand in a civil trial for E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit against him, stemming from her accusation of rape.
The trial was marked by restrictions imposed by the judge, with Trump being barred from denying the claim.
Trump’s testimony was brief, and he affirmed his denial of Carroll’s accusation.

“I never met this woman,” Trump said at one point. “I don’t know who the woman is.”
The trial also featured a witness who sent critical messages to Carroll, suggesting her motives were for publicity.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Trump,” Judge Kaplan said when Trump spoke up.
“You are interrupting these proceedings by talking loudly while your counsel is talking and that is not permitted.”
Trump’s demeanor in court was a subject of public interest, and his testimony was in stark contrast to a previous trial where he offered long, critical answers.
The trial is set to conclude with closing arguments, and jurors will deliberate on the case.
