TikTok is laying off 60 workers from its advertising and sales unit, following a trend of tech companies reducing their workforce in the new year.
The company, owned by ByteDance, did not provide a reason for the layoffs but stated affected workers can apply for other open positions within the company.
The move comes amidst similar job cuts in major tech companies, including Twitch, Discord, Amazon, and Google, resulting in over 10,000 job losses in the tech industry this year.
