Jon Stewart, the former host of “The Daily Show,” is set to make a partial return to the program.

The show’s team humorously reintroduced Stewart to viewers, referencing his iconic popcorn gif from his time on the show from 1999 to 2015.

“If you’re unfamiliar with his work, this is the popcorn gif guy,” the show posted on X.

He returns to a media environment filled with misinformation and conspiracy theories, a stark contrast to the pre-Trump era.

Trump and his allies have a powerful media machine that spreads propaganda daily.

“Misinformation, conspiracy theories, and outright lies saturate the 2024 public discourse in a way that stands in stark contrast to the pre-Trump era in which Stewart previously operated,” CNN reported.

“Trump and his stable of MAGA political allies have at their disposal a powerful media machine that pumps propaganda into the national conversation and sends it viral on a daily basis,” the report added.
