Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers has been suspended from NBA games for violating the league’s anti-drug program.
He tested positive for banned substances and will be barred from playing in the team’s next 25 games.
The drugs he tested positive for are considered performance enhancers.
The suspension begins when Cleveland plays the Milwaukee Bucks.
Thompson has not publicly addressed the positive tests.
This comes after he recently joined the Cavs and expressed excitement about the season.
Thompson said, “Wearing any other number didn’t feel right.”
“Back together, Number 13 forever,” he celebrated.
In 36 games so far this season, he is averaging 3.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest.
