Maine’s state legislature is debating a bill, LD1735, which would grant authorities the power to remove children from parents who oppose “gender-affirming care” for their children.

The bill allows courts to take temporary jurisdiction if a child is unable to access such care, without provision for religious objection.

If passed, the bill would eliminate parental rights in favor of the transgender movement, similar to laws in other states like Washington, California, and New York.

These laws limit parental say in transgender treatment for minors and prioritize the child’s choice over parental opposition.
