An illegal alien in Florida, accused of causing a sheriff’s death, claims his constitutional rights were violated and he was a victim of police brutality and racial profiling.
His defense attorney threatened to file a federal lawsuit if charges were not dropped.
The accused was found incompetent to stand trial and ordered to undergo treatment.
“Mr. Virgilio was a victim of police brutality. He was a victim of racial profiling,” attorney Phillip Arroyo said.
“He was a victim of violation of his fourth, fifth, and sixth amendment constitutional rights. Those who are responsible for this abuse will be held accountable.”
The incident involved the accused resisting arrest and a struggle with the officer, resulting in the officer’s death.
The accused is an illegal alien from Guatemala and had been working on a farm in the U.S.
