A Miami woman suffered brain damage and now requires 24-hour care due to an alleged fentanyl overdose during a dental procedure in Texas.

The lawsuit accuses Dr. Jerry Teague, along with other dentists and the clinic, of administering excessive anesthesia without intubation.

Teague, who had a cancer diagnosis, administered the drugs without consent.

“They told the audience that ‘cavitations’ are wounds in the mouth where teeth have been pulled, such as wisdom teeth, where toxicity can rival that of a gangrenous wound,” Espana’s court filing read.

The incident led to the cancellation of the surgery, and Teague passed away two weeks later.

Previously suspended for drug use, he was hired by the clinic after his suspension ended.

The woman now resides in a Florida neurological rehabilitation facility, seeking damages from the clinic after a settlement with Teague’s estate.
