A firefighter in Utah rescued a dog named Bob from an icy pond after it became trapped in partially ice-covered water.
The firefighter, named Logan, donned a dry suit, crawled across the ice, and successfully retrieved the dog, despite some initial aggression from the scared animal.
Logan’s crewmates helped pull both the dog and the firefighter to safety.
North Davis Fire District posted, “Bob the dog loves the water but the ice shelf prevented him from being able to get out after his polar plunge.”
“Don’t worry, Bob! He’s gonna save you!” shouted an onlooker.
“Firefighter Logan did a fantastic job today helping Bob,” wrote the fire officials.
“The rest of ‘B’ shift who you can’t see on camera are on the bank making sure Logan and Bob remain safe,” their statement continued.
The fire district emphasized the dangers of current ice conditions and urged caution for pets and people near icy areas.
“Please be safe with your pets and children as ice conditions are still not as safe as we’d like them to be,” they advised.
