Donald Trump’s federal election interference case is on hold due to his immunity appeal.
Special counsel Jack Smith filed a pretrial motion and produced evidence to the defense in an attempt to prevent further delays.
Trump’s team responded by filing a motion arguing that prosecutors should be held in contempt and face sanctions.

However, the pending immunity appeal halts any further proceedings, and Trump remains free to ignore the special counsel’s actions.
This new motion may have inadvertently placed an additional litigation burden on Trump.
