In recent Virginia state legislature elections, two Republicans, Tammy Mulchi and Eric Phillips, won their seats with significant margins, outperforming former President Donald Trump’s 2020 showings in their respective districts.
Mulchi won the Ninth State Senate District with a 27.1% margin, replacing outgoing state Sen. Frank Ruff, while Phillips secured the 48th District in the House of Delegates with a 41.6% margin, replacing outgoing Del. Les Adams.
“In Richmond, I am ready to get to work for our rural communities, family farmers, and Southern Virginia,” Republican Tammy Mulchi said. “I know I have big shoes to fill with Senator Ruff retiring, but I am ready to get to work.” (Trending: Trump Responds To Biden’s Bombing In Yemen)

“With Democrats in control of the General Assembly, Republicans need a fighter who will stand up for our way of life and push forward Governor Youngkin’s conservative agenda,” Phillips said.
The victories signal a swing towards Republicans despite the party’s prior losses, giving them renewed hope in Virginia.
