Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to nine felony and misdemeanor tax offenses, stemming from a four-year scheme to avoid paying $1.4 million to the IRS.
Additionally, he faces charges in Delaware related to lying on a federal form for gun purchasers and possessing a gun illegally.

These legal proceedings coincide with political drama, as both Hunter Biden and Donald Trump are facing legal challenges.
“I’m really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction. You know, I love my son,” Jill Biden said.
“And it’s had — it’s hurt my grandchildren. And that’s what I’m so concerned about, that it’s affecting their lives as well.”
Hunter Biden’s defense attorney has accused the special counsel of “bowing to Republican pressure.”
“Based on the facts and the law, if Hunter’s last name was anything other than Biden, the charges in Delaware, and now California, would not have been brought,” attorney Abbe Lowell said.
If convicted, Hunter Biden could face a maximum of 17 years in prison.
