Former President Donald Trump expressed pride in helping overturn Roe v. Wade by appointing three conservative Supreme Court justices.

During a town hall event, he highlighted his role in ending the 54-year-old case and criticized the anti-abortion movement’s impact on the Republican Party’s performance in the 2022 midterm elections.

“54 years, they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it,” Trump said. (Trending: Clintons Scramble To Delete Embarrassing Photo, But Were Too Slow)

“And I’m proud to have done it.”

Trump emphasized the importance of winning elections and expressed disagreement with Florida’s strict abortion ban.

“You have to win elections,” Trump said. “Otherwise you’re going to be back where you were, and you can’t let that ever happen again.”

The issue of abortion rights is expected to be significant in the 2024 election, with a majority of Americans supporting universal abortion rights, according to a recent poll.
