European Central Bank (ECB) president Christine Lagarde expressed concern about the potential impact of a return to the White House for former President Donald Trump, citing a threat to Europe due to his America-first policies.

She broke with tradition by commenting on foreign elections, highlighting the anxiety among European leaders about a less Europe-focused administration in the White House.

Lagarde emphasized potential conflicts with Europe in trade protectionism, military support for NATO, and climate change. (Trending: Anthony Fauci Questioned About Evidence Behind COVID Restrictions)

Despite concerns, she noted that the U.S. Congress could still support Ukraine against Russia, countering the idea of Europe being left alone.

“Because in the U.S. Congress there are a number of elected members who are deeply hostile to Russia’s horrific war against Ukraine and who will continue to finance and support Ukraine,” she said.

Additionally, Lagarde dismissed rumors of leaving the ECB before her term expires in 2027 to rejoin politics.
