“Wheel of Fortune” fans were upset after host Pat Sajak refused to give a contestant the win for solving a puzzle due to her mispronunciation of the word “Congenial.”
Some viewers blamed Sajak for being unfair, while others believed her error was significant enough to cost her the win.

“They just made this woman look illiterate because congenial pronunciation,” another said.
“I don’t even know what the word #congenial means but I d— sure know it’s not pronounced like that. I’m embarrassed for her honestly. Cause wtf,” another wrote.
“I think it was a travesty what Pat [Sajak] did to Shauna on last nights show!..Not every can pronounce every work correctly!…She solves the puzzle, and then read it, sadly Pat (yes he needs to go) decided she pronounced the word Congenial wrong!” another said.
“It’s not a mispronunciation when someone uses a completely different word,” another user wrote.
In a separate incident, Sajak suffered an awkward moment when he mistakenly mixed up information about a contestant’s personal life during the show.
“Married man?” Sajak asked the contestant.
“No, I’m single, actually,” the contestant said.
“You know, I’m sorry,” Sajak said, laughing.
“I just messed up a card, hold on.”
“Paris, Texas, as a single dad to two adopted boys,” he corrected.
“Nice to have you, Jason, forgive me, but it’s been a New Year’s weekend. You have to understand.”
