A family cat in Edmond, North Dakota, bravely defended a Havanese pup from two coyotes in a dramatic rescue captured on surveillance camera.

The cat, named Binx, acted swiftly, hissing and pouncing at the coyotes, ultimately saving the dog, Oakley.

“Oakley scampered in the house and ran upstairs,” the owner said. (Trending: Hollywood A-Listers Revealed In Epstein Court Documents)

“We had no idea what happened,” he added. “She knew exactly what was going on — with no hesitation, she acted. And once she got on the ground, she made a lot of noise, hissing — and pounced at the coyotes.”

“Never in a million years would I have expected a cat to do that.”

The cat, a stray that the family had been feeding, preferred the outdoors and had shown a history of self-defense.

“We’ve tried to bring her inside, but she has no interest in being an indoor cat,” he added. “She likes the elements, and I’m sure she’s been in a lot of situations where she’s had to defend herself. She lives in our backyard.”

Oakley received treatment and made a full recovery.

This was the first coyote attack in the neighborhood, and the family emphasized the need for pet owners to be cautious of potential predators like coyotes.
