A dog named Leo fell off a cliff at Ecola State Park in Oregon and was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard aircrew.
The rescue involved lowering a basket to the remote beach where the injured dog was located and then safely lifting Leo and the rescuer into the helicopter.
Leo was reunited with his owners and was reported to have a few cuts and bruises, but was expected to recover. (Trending: ‘American Idol’ Producer Sued For Sexual Assault)

Fire departments from three local areas also assisted in the rescue.
“It looks like there is a little bit more beach where [the dog] is,” a rescuer said.
“This your first dog rescue, Jason?” the pilot asked.
“First dog rescue,” the swimmer said.
“Hugs. Hugs all around,” a USCG aircrew member said.
“I love it,” another added.
“Leo stayed overnight at an emergency vet,” the owners noted.
“He has a few cuts and bruises. All things considered, he is doing good. We are so thankful he is alive and expected to recover.”
