A federal judge partially dismissed a case against former President Donald Trump related to the January 6th Capitol breach.

The judge ruled that the plaintiff, Sandra Garza, did not have standing to bring certain claims because she and the deceased officer were not a lawful couple at the time of his death.

However, two counts in the suit were allowed to proceed.

Garza’s attorney Mark Zaid, said, “We are pleased to see that our lawsuit in pursuit of justice for the late Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who died in the aftermath of the January 6th insurrection, has been permitted to continue. We are now considering our next step options, to include deposing former President Trump.”

Despite this, President Trump still faces two federal cases related to January 6th, with his first trial scheduled to begin on March 4th, pending an appeals court ruling on claims of immunity.
