House Majority Whip Tom Emmer endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 election, solidifying Trump’s support among GOP leadership in the House.
Emmer’s endorsement follows similar support from House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and other key House leaders.
“Democrats have made clear they will use every tool in their arsenal to try and keep [President] Joe Biden and his failed policies in power. We cannot let them,” Emmer stated.
“It’s time for Republicans to unite behind our party’s clear frontrunner, which is why I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President.”
Emmer’s endorsement comes after Trump opposed his run for speaker last year.
Trump’s potential second presidential term sets up a possible 2020 general election rematch against President Joe Biden, with Trump currently seen as the clear frontrunner in a shrinking GOP field.
Emmer’s endorsement is part of a larger trend, with close to 100 GOP House endorsements for Trump, positioning him well ahead of his remaining Republican rivals.
