Meghan McCain has hinted at filing a defamation lawsuit against her ex-colleague, Ana Navarro, who insinuated that McCain unlawfully used her family’s name for financial gain.
McCain threatened legal action after Navarro compared her to Hunter Biden and suggested that influence peddling is common.

“I don’t understand why my former colleagues bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis,” wrote McCain.
“It has been years. Move on, I have,” she continued.
Navarro said, “And being Hunter Biden’s very loving father, very good father, very supportive father. Look, did Hunter Biden influence peddle on his last name? Yes, he did. So did half of Washington. People sitting at this table did it.”
She later tweeted a follow-up message directed at ABC, The View’s parent network.
“I have never been accused of a crime in my life and am a patriotic American — I would never and have never ‘influence peddled’ in my life, let alone with foreign adversaries. Not all politicians’ children are the same — and I am no Hunter Biden,” said McCain.
“All accusations are absurd, defamatory and slanderous. I will be consulting my lawyers regarding what was libeled against me on The View this morning,” added the former co-host.
“I do not take it lightly when any news program suggests I engage in criminal behavior, especially as a former employee of ABC News,” wrote McCain.
