Tony Paopao, a father from Illinois, initially hesitated to wear a tutu for his daughter’s dance recital but eventually did so with his wife’s encouragement.
He had been actively involved in his daughter’s dance lessons and eventually performed with her at the recital.

The family has received mostly positive feedback, with comparisons to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Tony hopes the video brings joy to people, and his wife believes it will make their daughter feel fortunate when she watches it in the future.
“At first I didn’t want to, I’m already a big guy and didn’t want to bring more attention to myself,” Paopao said.
“I also didn’t want my daughter to be confused as to why I was wearing one.”
“They go to her ballet class, then gym and then out for ice cream,” mother Tiana Paopao said.
“It’s their thing. He’s always very hands-on,” she said.
“He’s huge – 6’5″ and 385 pounds.”
“He even led the parade after the curtain call,” Tiana said.
“Every time I picked her up I heard her giggling, and smiling. She’s so much fun,” Paopao said of performing with his daughter.
“You’re a 6’5 350 lb samoan… but you’re also a girl dad lol,” Tiana wrote online.
“Some people have been comparing him to The Rock,” she said. “He loves it.”
