California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis made an error in a letter to the California Secretary of State, incorrectly stating that the U.S. Constitution requires a presidential candidate to be 40 years old.
The minimum age is actually 35.

“The constitution is clear: you must be 40 years old and not be an insurrectionist,” Kounalakis inaccurately wrote in a letter to California Secretary of State.
“Our country is governed by idiots,” responded an X user.
“It’s 40 in the 1619 Constitution,” another X user joked.
The incident reflects a broader concern about the disregard for constitutional principles among some political figures and the establishment’s selective use of constitutional principles to serve their interests.
