University of Alabama football player Elijah Pritchett was arrested in Tuscaloosa for knowingly spreading a sexually transmitted disease.

He was released on a $500 bond and granted youthful offender status, which could lead to a more lenient sentence and potential record expungement.

Pritchett, 19, had a previous speeding incident where he reportedly paid $197 in court fees, completed a defensive driving course and 10 hours of community service. (Trending: Judge Announces Historic Ruling In Jeffrey Epstein Case)

Despite initially planning to leave Alabama, he later decided to stay.

He has been a competitive player and is striving for a starting position.

“He’s done a good job,” Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said in April.

“Elijah is getting better,” Saban said.

“I think he’s one of those young guys who needs to be able to sustain his intensity, not get penalties, do the little things right,” continued the coach.

“But he has done a really, really good job this spring. He’s played well. He’s made a lot of progress and improvement,” Saban explained.

Adding, “He’s really competing for a position as a starter.”

“Transferring is not in my best interest,” said Pritchett.

“I apologize for any and all inconveniences, he continued.

“I’m 100% locked in. Roll Tide!” he exclaimed.
