Two Georgia election workers who won $148 million in damages from Rudy Giuliani have sued him again to prevent him from making further claims about their involvement in election interference.
They are seeking a permanent injunction and reimbursement for attorney and court fees.
The lawsuit cites Giuliani’s post-damages interviews where he continued to make statements about their role in the 2020 election. (Trending: Prominent LGBTQ Activist Arrested Over Disturbing Charges)
They are also seeking the costs of their attorney and court fees, as well as “other and further relief this Court deems just and proper,” according to the filing.
“Defendant Giuliani’s statements, coupled with his refusal to agree to refrain from continuing to make such statements, make clear that he intends to persist in his campaign of targeted defamation and harassment,” wrote the plaintiffs’ attorneys in the filing.
“It must stop,” the filing continued.
“Never, never, never did any of those jurors see a single piece of evidence that many Americans have seen about how these women acted that would have been totally contrary to the, to their unrebutted, uncorroborated testimony,” reads the filing.
The plaintiffs highlighted Giulinani’s appearance on a podcast where he said, “It’s a sham of a trial.”
“[Giuliani’s] wrongful conduct is so outrageous in character and so extreme in degree that it is beyond all possible bounds of decency and is to be regarded as atrocious and utterly intolerable in a civilized community,” reads the plaintiffs’ complaint.
The filing adds that unless Giuliani is prohibited from repeating “defamatory statements” about the election workers, the ’emotional distress, overwhelming stress and anxiety, lost earnings” will continue.
The workers previously accused Giuliani of engaging in a smear campaign.
They argue that his conduct has caused emotional distress and lost earnings and are seeking to prevent further defamation.
