A plot to unearth a Hamas weapons cache in Germany and launch terror attacks against the European Jewish community has resulted in seven arrests across Europe, according to Israel’s intelligence service Mossad.

The arrests, spanning Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, are treated as linked by media and Mossad, with Danish authorities being more cautious in their confirmation.

The plot involved Islamists in Europe receiving orders from Hamas leaders in Lebanon to retrieve buried weapons, intending to use them for an operation in Berlin. (Trending: Democrat Excludes White People From Holiday Party In Controversial Email)

The arrested individuals are reported to be longstanding Hamas members under surveillance since last year, with Mossad stating that the goal of the plot was to attack Israeli, Jewish, and Western targets in Europe.

Hamas’ plan was “to kill innocent civilians on European soil… to attack Israeli, Jewish and Western targets at any price”, Mossad said.

“It is of course — in relation to Israel and Gaza — completely unacceptable for someone to bring a conflict elsewhere in the world into Danish society,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said.

“For a number of years now, we have seen that there are people living in Denmark who do not wish us well… who are against our freedom and who are against Danish society, with all that it entails.”
