Barack and Michelle Obama’s involvement in various productions, including a Netflix deal and a fictional film called “Leave the World Behind,” has sparked division and controversy.

The film’s plot, involving an apocalyptic scenario and racial tensions, has drawn criticism and mixed reviews.

Despite negative reactions, the movie has gained attention and become the top film on the streaming platform. (Trending: LeBron James Shares Gun Advice For Americans)

The Obamas’ connection to the project has raised questions about the content and the lack of oversight, leading to debates about the appropriateness of their involvement.

In the Netflix trailer, the plot describes how an affluent, white family rents a mansion in the middle of nowhere, but somewhere near New York City. Th mansion is owned by a black family.

As chaos ensues in the film, the black family is hesitant to trust people.

“If the world falls apart, trust should not be doled out easily to anyone,” the daughter tells the father in the scene. “Especially white people.”

The film is scoring a 75 percent “fresh” rating on critical aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

“An exceptionally well-acted apocalyptic thriller, ‘Leave the World Behind’ steadily draws the viewer in despite its leisurely pace and somewhat simplistic messaging,” the site’s “critics consensus” blurb reads.

Billionaire Elon Musk responded, “Is this for real?”

Another person commented, “Why on earth would a former president of the United States be behind a movie that envisions the destruction of America and civil war?”

“If this was reversed and there was a scene about black people there would be an outrage and it demanded off the platform. But because it’s about being racist towards white people it’s completely okay,” another person remarked. “It is wrong in both ways and should not be on any platform. No shocker it was.”

“I watched it,” another person said. “I didn’t know that it was an Obama film when I did, but I must say it has one of the worst endings that I have seen in a movie in a really long time.”
