President Biden’s approval rating has reached an all-time low, with a Wall Street Journal poll showing him trailing former President Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup.
Trump leads in various scenarios, and Biden’s policies have received low approval, with only 23% saying they’ve helped personally.

Trump is seen as better suited for the economy, inflation, border security, and other issues.
The survey suggests Biden may be struggling with traditionally Democratic-leaning groups.
“Americans were better off financially under President Trump. Now, under Crooked Joe Biden, we have runaway inflation, a porous southern border, crime in our streets, and chaos around the globe,” Senior Trump Advisor Jason Miller said.
“If this race is about policy and performance, then Donald Trump has a significant advantage,” said Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio.
“If this race is about temperament and character, things like that, then Biden has an advantage.”
“They [Democrats] are feeling economically stressed and challenged right now. And they are not showing enthusiasm in the way they were turning out in 2020, 2022,” Democrat Michael Bocian said.
Biden’s approval ratings have declined significantly since his early months in office, and he currently stands well below his recent two-term predecessors.
Despite these findings, Biden’s campaign and Democratic allies point to historical precedent, citing former President Obama’s unfavorable polling before his successful re-election.
“Predictions more than a year out tend to look a little different a year later,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz said.
“Don’t take our word for it: Gallup predicted an eight-point loss for President Obama, only for him to win handedly a year later.”
