Former President Trump is leading in Iowa’s Republican presidential caucuses with 51% support, followed by Ron DeSantis at 19% and Nikki Haley at 16%, according to the latest NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll.
Trump’s lead has grown and is the largest recorded in the survey’s history.
His support is driven by evangelical voters and those who believe he can defeat Biden. (Trending: Top Democrat Loses In Historic Landslide)
The poll also suggests that Trump supporters are more enthusiastic than those backing his rivals.
DeSantis and Haley are vying for second place, with Haley gaining momentum in recent polls.
Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, and Asa Hutchinson are also mentioned in the poll results.
Trump’s campaign is intensifying efforts leading up to the caucuses, while DeSantis and Haley are actively campaigning in Iowa.
J. Ann Selzer, the pollster who has conducted the survey for the past three decades, said that “the field may have shrunk, but it may have made Donald Trump even stronger. I would call his lead commanding at this point.”
“We have an extremely aggressive operation and an extremely aggressive schedule,” Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita told Fox News.
