The White House has urged Congress to approve more funds to aid Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, but House Speaker Mike Johnson has strongly criticized the administration’s approach.
Johnson emphasized the need to address concerns about the lack of a clear strategy in Ukraine and the border crisis.
The White House warned that the allocated funds for Ukraine are running out, seeking an additional $61.4 billion as part of a larger funding request. (Trending: Bombshell Email Uncovered Between Joe Biden And Hunter)
“The Biden Administration has failed to substantively address any of my conference’s legitimate concerns about the lack of a clear strategy in Ukraine, a path to resolving the conflict, or a plan for adequately ensuring accountability for aid provided by American taxpayers. Meanwhile, the Administration is continually ignoring the catastrophe at our own border,” wrote Speaker Johnson on X.
“House Republicans have resolved that any national security supplemental package must begin with our own border,” he continued.
“We believe both issues can be agreed upon if Senate Democrats and the White House will negotiate reasonably,” he added.
Biden’s Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young recently wrote to Congress, “I want to be clear: without congressional action, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to procure more weapons and equipment for Ukraine and to provide equipment from U.S. military stocks.”
Senate Democrats are facing challenges in securing GOP support due to disagreements over border security reforms.
