Indonesian authorities have stopped the search for 12 climbers after the Mount Marapi volcano erupted, sending hot ash as high as 2,620 feet into the air.
The bodies of 11 climbers were recovered, and attempts to locate the missing climbers were hindered by the renewed volcanic activity.
The volcano has been at the third highest alert level since 2011, prohibiting climbers and villagers within 1.8 miles of the peak. (Trending: Bombshell Email Uncovered Between Joe Biden And Hunter)

“This means that there should be no climbing to the peak,” Hendra Gunawan, the head of the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation said.
“This shows that the eruption process is taking place quickly and the center of pressure is very shallow, around the peak,” he said.
“Marapi eruptions are always sudden and difficult to detect using equipment because the source is near the surface,” Gunawan added, “This eruption was not caused by the movement of magma.”
About 75 climbers were stranded on the mountain, with 52 rescued and eight rushed to the hospital with injuries.
The eruption blanketed nearby villages and towns with volcanic debris, and authorities distributed masks to residents.
The volcano is among more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia.
