House Majority Whip Tom Emmer suggested that Republicans should consider expelling Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) due to his guilty plea for pulling a fire alarm inside Capitol Hill, contrasting it with the expulsion of Rep. Santos.
Emmer questioned why Bowman has not been expelled while Santos was, and other House Republicans have raised similar concerns.

Rep. Santos and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis both filed for Bowman to be removed from Congress.
Bowman pleaded guilty, received a $1,000 fine and assigned three months of probation.
It remains uncertain whether Emmer and House Speaker Mike Johnson intend to gather support for Bowman’s expulsion.
