Pop singer Sabrina Carpenter sparked outrage for using a Roman Catholic church in Brooklyn as a backdrop for her music video, leading to the church’s pastor being stripped of his administrative duties.
The video, released on Oct. 31, features scenes of men behaving inappropriately and dying in grisly ways, followed by Carpenter dancing in the church.
The diocese condemned the video and took action against the pastor, including holding a Mass to restore the church’s sanctity. (Trending: Biden Shamefully Removes God From National Address)
“Through the offering of this Mass, Bishop Brennan has restored the sanctity of this church and repaired the harm,” the diocese said.
The pastor claimed he allowed filming to strengthen bonds with the community and was unaware of the provocative nature of the video.
