Senator Mitt Romney has decided not to run for president, as confirmed by his chief of staff.

This decision follows speculation after the creation of a committee to draft Romney for a presidential bid.

Romney’s stance against former President Donald Trump has remained strong, with him criticizing Trump’s character and environmental policies. (Trending: Photos Released Of Cocaine Found In White House)

“Donald Trump represents a failure of character, which is changing, I think, in many respects, the psyche of our nation and the heart of our nation,” Romney said.

“And that’s something which takes a long time, if ever, to repair.”

Meanwhile, Trump has celebrated Romney’s decision not to seek reelection.

“FANTASTIC NEWS FOR AMERICA, THE GREAT STATE OF UTAH, & FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY,” Trump posted of Romney’s news.
