The UFC’s decision to name Bud Light as the organization’s official beer sponsor has received extensive negative backlash, with social media users expressing their disappointment and even calling for a boycott of the sport.
Bud Light’s reputation as a toxic brand seems to have made it a detrimental partner for any organization.
“We’re proud to announce that starting in 2024, we’ll once again be the official beer sponsor of @UFC,” Bud Light posted. (Trending: Is It Time For Joe Biden To Drop Out Of 2024?)

“Time to boycott the UFC,” one social media user wrote.
“I thought this was a joke,” another said. “I guess the UFC will do anything to grow, but I won’t be a part of it. UFC294 was my last PPV buy. What a shame it will bring fans away from the sport. Plus, Modelo is actually a good beer.”
UFC’s acceptance of the partnership raises questions as to why they would align themselves with such a polarizing and divisive brand.
The UFC has signed a new partnership with Anheuser-Busch, $BUD, that makes Bud Light once again the official beer of the promotion, per ESPN.

UFC President Dana White defended the partnership, highlighting Bud Light’s positive attributes, but these were seen as insufficient justifications. (Trending: CNN Poll Is Bad News For Biden)
“When I look at a long-term sponsor that’s going to be, we’re going to be doing a six-year deal here, I want [it] to be someone that I’m aligned with,” he stated.
The motivation behind the partnership, whether money or clout, is unclear.
“I know you don’t need the money,” Fox News’ Sean Hannity said. “Because you have more money than anyone could ever want and probably for a thousand lifetimes.
“So you didn’t do it for the money.”
